High Flowed Turbo

G'day,

Could i get some info on what a high flowed turbo means please? Is this seomthing you get done to your original turbo or is that how aftermarket ones are made??

Any input would be appreciated.

High flowing a turbo involves the machining of the exhaust and/or compressor housings to fit larger wheels and in turn, flow more air (make more power).

New aftermarket turbos are exactly that....new.

Ok cool thanks...Do you now how much it would cost to get it done to an RB25 turbo or would it be more worth while getting a new turbo?

Should have asked in ACT area we could have sorted you out.. Check out forced induction gtst turbo upgrade section for ideas.

It costs 2k for a highflow from GCG which should see about 250 to 270ish rwkw they bolt straight up, or 2k for a second hand HKS 2530 which good for 240ish or GT series for 2k but just remember you will have to upgrade your ECU, pump, injectors, reg and what ever else along the lines.

The best $890 you will ever spend will be on a Sliding Performance RB25/VG30 high flow. You can even PM the user 'Slide' on this forum for more info!

Yeah, $890 bucks for a highflow is excellent value. These guys seem to have a pretty good rep aswell.

Well over 800 units sold all over the world (including back to Japan!!!) and the only issue to speak of so far is one individual who had no idea what they were doing. lol.

Excellent value and will support up to 250kW with supporting mods.

Well ive got a fuel pump, power fc, fmic, pod....will i need injectors and coils to support that high flow??

Coils should be fine, however you should upgrade your injectors to around 550cc units.
