N1GTR
Guys Have a read of the attached file Seems some good news is coming on the Bathurst front Hopefully it will be passed through the relevant authorities built, and opened for public use the same way Oran Park and Eastern Creek are Here's the proposition: Linky_for_Bathurst_2nd_track.pdf Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/140345-bathurst-to-have-a-second-track-built/ Share on other sites
GTR32GUS
Isn`t there homes and a school where they want to put that track? I have to go to Bathurst abit 4 work and the locals seem to be anti-car i had 1 old dude tell me Bathurst would be a better town without the race Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/140345-bathurst-to-have-a-second-track-built/#findComment-2614868 Share on other sites
N1GTR
I think where they want to put it is the huge carpark area mate Yeah, if they're anti-car they should move IMO. Its like the people that buy a house near an airport then complain about noise Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/140345-bathurst-to-have-a-second-track-built/#findComment-2614879 Share on other sites
smasha
That's locals in any place that is famous for an event or a place of interest. They have a bunch of tourists (or blow-ins as some may refer to them) coming in for a short time of the year, spending wads of cash on memorabilia and other local products, and then leave. The locals have to spend all their time there, and become jaded old fogeys who hate the world and anything unfamiliar. Take no notice of it, and enjoy what you're there for. A great racetrack and a good race (would be greater if Skylines were still there) Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/140345-bathurst-to-have-a-second-track-built/#findComment-2614886 Share on other sites
scathing
The same can't be said for Targa Tasmania. The locals down there love it, by all accounts. But then Targa isn't the same as Bathurst, so you get proper enthusiasts watching, and usually behaving respectfully, rather than the great unwashed acting like tools and going only because its an "event". But that's good news. With all the racetrack closures in NSW, its nice to see we'll get something to replace it with. If / when it gets opened for public days, I'll be there. Duncan
what a great idea, we can't have enogh permanent circuits in NSW. From memory the ground there isn't flat either (slopes down away from the mountain) so it shold be interesting to drive Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/140345-bathurst-to-have-a-second-track-built/#findComment-2618567 Share on other sites
