Penfold
Hiya, I was just wondering what the options are for replacing a cracked front lip on a R33 GTR. From a previous occurrence I know I have a fiberglass one and it cost like $650 dollars to repair. Now its happened again (the fibreglass seems to be very brittle and doesnt have much give before it cracks - then it just falls apart) so I'm considering replacing it rather than having it repared. I know the genuine lips are like $1300 but the diffuser itself seems in good condition. Obviously I'd prefer plastic but not if it is gonna cost me an extra $1000. I have seen http://www.uniqueautosports.com.au/priceli...gtrlowerlip.jpg this and http://www.uniqueautosports.com.au/priceli...ries3gtrbar.jpg and it looks like the R33 Series 3 should bolt up to the Series 1 but any feedback would be great. I've also seen the 400R replicas but they seem to be for GTS-T's only so I'm not sure how they bolt up or whether they bolt up to the diffuser either? Anyone had experiecne in this regard? ferni
stay away from fibreglass, it will do exactly what you have experienced. I put an original series 3 front lip on my Series1, bolts straight up, except you also need to change the brake ducts over to series3 items. You can look on yahoo for a original lip, takes a while but they do come up every now and then, just make sure its original plastic, not fibreglass. Or you could get that guy on here from customcarbon to make you one of his full carbonfibre ones, was around 800 i think.... even then, don't think it will be as flexable as an original plastic one.
