I think there needs to be a combine effort from all peoples involved.

Governments need/should introduce advance driving course as part of the licensing procedure.

They need to spend more money on safe driving which are aimed at younger kids and not spend it on their erection campains.

I know that the courses can be expensive, but offset that with the fact that with the skills and abilities you gain from them could one day save your life and i think it is affordable to everyone.

The insurance companies can come into the game as well. Maybe offer cheaper insurance for new drivers if they have completed some sort of advance driving course.

And parents need to be apart of this as well. Im not a parent myself so i havent got total insight on the whole father/son/daughter thing. I know that learners these days forge/dodgy the driving hours. Why not take the time or make the effort to take the kids out driving and fill out their books for them, properly. At least you know that your kids are getting the required experience that they need on the roads. Advise them that speeding kills and its not cool to drag the family sedan cos its not designed for it (im not saying that you should be dragging sports cars either).

To sum it up imo i think the best answer to preventing these fatalities is to educate them more and give them the skills they need to survive on our roads.

My mothers work deals with statistics on these issues, and it's be proved an "advance driving course makes you, more at risk of having an accerdent" not sure if this was in gerneral, i think it just related to young drivers (p-platers)

I know that about 3yrs ago when I did my first trackday i realised my skyline had way more grip and better handling than i ever expected.... this gave me heaps more confidence on the road to go faster.

It's like the current water problem, the population increases however the and the inferstructure stays the same, it gets to a point where it's two late and then the powers at be say shit whate are we going to do.

Same with roads, there are just so many more people on the roads, and traffic. P-plators are jus the scape goat, to take the emphsis of another f**k up where the inferstructure isn't there to support growth. They shoudl start looking at them selfs to creat better roads, so the experence drivers as well have less chances of prangs. Manage roadworks/existing roads better minimising traffic and causing ppl to make quick decisions. Building better roads/more roads, or even more tracks to keep "street raceing" of public roads.

it's just the way life is.

no one can prevent accidents from happening. no matter how hard the police try, it's gonna happen. face it, people are going to die. only way u can sort of prevent that is to stop making cars that go faster than 30k/h.

But yet your still around to go faster, you didnt wrap yourself around a pole.

Maybe the track day gave you the skills to hande the car better and gave you insite on the limits of your car.

And confidence is not a bad thing, over confidence and lack of cofindence is.

But having confidence doesnt give you and escuse to drive over the speed limit.
