Skidding Of A Gtr At Low Speed Need Explainations

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

was driving my gtr that day when the temperature outside was 6 degrees.

After driving for 5 mins, came to a red light at a junction and stopped.

Light turned green and took a right corner. Wasn't pushing hard maybe rev to 3000-3500 rpm, then after change to second gear, the car lost control and skidded.

Tyres are bridgestones firestone with 70-80% thread.

Can someone please explain to me what happened? Quite scary thing to happen when i am not pushing the car hard.

maybe cold tyres or could be just me.

Thanks for any advice

changed gears and popped clutch at high revs, excessive road camber, gale force winds coming sideways, mysterious dissappearing oil patch, that initial-D sticker on the windscreen...could be anything mate...i'd personally get my shocks and alignment checked if i was paranoid about it.

Go back to the corner and try it again on a dry warm day, I'd guess you more than likely found some thin ice or moisture on a very cold road, with the rev range you state you'd have just hit boost as it happened.

Sounds fun to me :D
