well i dunno.. i think the best thing is to say, unless you can make it for the whole day, and its too inconvenient...then organise to do it in your own time. It might cost you $300 but money is convenience

I think the whole idea is just to get everybody together when its convenient for the whole day and make a bit of a social thing out of it as well. If you are prepared to wait around the whole day, then you'll get the group discount. If not, do it on your own time and pay slightly more.

well Al coz your working u can jump in 2nd but the rest of yas i really dont wanna set exact times its just easier running it first in first dressed, i dont care when i go ill be there all day, i never put stress on anyone doing anything to my car coz i want the job done properly, even if they run out of time ill come back next day if the job will be done better, i think u guys would have the same mentality as me, we all own skylines :) but yes im sticking with R31Nismoids idea offirst in except for the guy who has to be first (as arranged previously and Al who's on call) otherwise its just random :D seeyas saturday boys

DJ thanks for the offer, but we shall stick to what is fair for all (apart from the guy who asked to be first), so if ppl arrive b4 i will be more than happy to get the car done after theirs.

I too want a TOP CLASS job done to my car and do not wish to rush anyone, hope that 11 cars in 8hrs isn't going to result in sub standard work, but the finish should be fully garanteed against bubbling, peeling and workmanship.

I am going to carefully remove my rear seats and parcel shelf b4 i get there, as i don't want them to "accedently" damage or scratch the car. Does any other trim needs to be removed? This will also save them alot of time, thus taking a little more care on applying the tint.

I found out last night that the winter season of tennis starts this saturday :< i'm going to ask a mate at school tomorrow to fill in for me but if he is busy then the earliest i'll be able to get there is about 1:00. Would this be ok?

also, will i need to remove the parcel shelf (have stock speaker covers)?

cheers,

Greg

DJ,

Can you do us another small favour and ask the guys at Tint-a-car what they remove out of the car to tint the windows.

ie:Parcel shelf, rear seats, door trims, trim around rear quarter windows, etc.

As i would like (and i am sure a couple other people may feel the same) to take these items out slowly and carefully myself.

Thanks BUDDY for your patience

Alan

yup i will, i know for sure they need to get their hands and a sqeegy (however u spell it) on every window they do to each edge so for most of us that means parcel shelf has gotta go out, im taking that at least out before the day but ill find out what else, i'd assume they would need to remove everything else unless the tint on the side windows extends below the sealinto thew door (but i dont see why if ya dont see it why would they waste their time taking the doors apart) nevertheless i will enquire

my soarer is being tinted right now - he needed to take of door trims and window surrounds so he could get right down the glass. Also will need to take off rear parcel shelf because the rear brake light is in the way. I think on the 33, you shouldnt have a problem with parcel shelf, but would bet you will need to take of door skins.

OK decided to remove all trim around glass. This is what i done:

-Rear seats

-Parcel shelf

-Rear speakers

-Rear arm rest panels

-Rear side/roof panels (the ones that go round the triangular windows.

To be done soon:

-Front door trims

-Front speakers

All these thing were relatively easy to remove and only took me 2hrs with alot of care.

Its hard to get the rear seat without scratching your rear side trims as u get the bottom part of the seat out.. Mine have a few skuff marks now as i've done it a few times. For those doing it I recommend you place a blanket or rag over that area to prevent this.. just take care.

Personally I am taking out rear seat.. parcel shelf and i gotta rip my old tint off the quarters (i think they might have been done factory). Door trims are 5 min job if u know how to do it.

I am sure they can do it so I wouldn't worry about that too much

    • This isn't for lotsa powers, and time and effort isn't even a thing I'm concerned about The whole reason is "Just because fun", and "Just because fun" is what I do And whilst there are other kits, with better and more modern turbos (Rev9 use the same Kraken manifold I believe.....EDIT... nope, the Kraken is a cast jobbie, the REv9 uses welded up stainless, plus $8000 AUD before shipping, installation and tuning) Where else in Sydney can I do a drive in drive out with the after sales support that MX5 Mania give My Turbo 86 made around 200kwatw on a AVO turbo kit that Pulse fitted, and it was over 100kg heavier than the MX5, but it was a blast to drive around the streets, until I crashed it.....DOOH, so somewhere around 200 ish level and some whooshy noises and I'll be happy driving to work, the shops, or heading into the country with Jackie for Devonshire tea So, thanks Dose for your info, it sounds like a 0.64 will be fine for what I'm after👍 The only real racing I do nowadays is to the toilet

    • Hey @Butters, did you end up getting this clutch in ? I have just ordered to a uniclutch track to go in my getrag 6 speed that’s in my BNR 32
    • I know you don't want to hear this comment, but I can't not say it.  I just can't see 200kw being worth the time and effort. Its like guys with NA cars, putting in headers/exhaust/tune for a massive 20% jump in power. Great, the slow car is still slow and you're down $10,000.  My vote is leave it NA or price in a gearbox upgrade and shoot for at least 300KW, preferably 350KW+.  Now you have a NC that will try to kill you from time to time and will be exciting to drive
