I think I got a diff for my 18th.

Haha thats pretty sick.. i dont even think i got anything for my 18th.. cheap arse parents.. *grumbles*

my 20th was better then my 18th.. how lame am i!

An 'experience' as opposed to a 'present' is good if you don't want anything in particular... ie: harbour bridge climb, skydiving, paintball with all your friends, swimming with dolphins or sharks etc... something you will always remember rather than something that you think is a good gift now but in a few years is boring...

Although - the tools is a great idea (as long as they're not cheap ass super cheap auto brand or something equally crappy!).

I turn 18 in Feb, whatever I'm getting is a 'suprise'.

I don't know what I really want anyway. One of those Jason Lay-Z-Boy recliners would go down pretty sweet as a computer chair though.

One I saw had a fridge and stuff in the hand rest. ^_^

I guess an unrestricted license would be cool, but unfortunately no one who I know who works at the RTA is willing to make that the best 18th birthday present ever.

Do you like car magazines? Get someone to hook you up with a yearly subscription?

Money is probably the best one though. Behind the recliner chair.

Maybe you can get yourself pack of "pull up" nappys instead of traditional ones as you are BIG kid now! :);):O:kiss::wub:

Sorry man I couldn't resist.

I got myself money.. went to the casino with $150 walked out with $900.. Probably could have done better.. but I've never seen that much money before, know when to quit :O

the cheapest blow up doll you can buy in an adult store. trust me, it'll be f**kin hilarious. especially when you blow her up and everyone plays basketball with it. :)

By basketball you mean hide the sausage right?

Tools are an awesome idea. I got a nice set of tools for my 18th.

Before that, I used to keep banging my hands, wrecking bolts. I never used to think it mattered.

Now, if I dont' have the right tool, i either buy it, or pay someone else to do the job.

Oh, I also got a GF for my bday. I know that's not something that you can ask for. lol. But it really makes your day.

I knew a bunch of tools, but I don't hang around them anymore... No wait, you're talking about spanners, screwdrivers and stuff like that, right? Yeah, they're definitely a good idea! :)

And if you got a girlfriend on your birthday, and it really made your day, what did you do the next day? :P:O:ninja:

    • The Frenchy's kit is the way to go forward. A modern compressor that weighs about 1/2 as much, is at least twice as efficient, and will do a good job on R134a. And of course the kit has everything else you need to connect it up and have it work properly.
    • Hey all , I am in the process of having the AC system in my r32 GTST converted from r12 to r134a and I’m being told my compressor has gone bad and I will need a new one. I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions for what is the best route to go aside from dropping $1500 on a new oem one? I did see that Frenchy’s performance garage offers a kit to mount a Toyota compressor, has anybody actually used this kit on their car? Or is there anywhere I could purchase just a clutch? Any help is appreciated.
    • Well, your RB20 ECU loom won't have wires for the boost solenoid, that boost sensor, and possibly one or two other things. There could be differences in seemingly random things like the charcoal canister purge solenoid, because the 25DET has to handle boost in the vacuum system and the 20DE does not. I don't know - I haven't looked. It is very likely that all the most important things are same-same, being the main sensors like AFM, CAS, etc, and the injectors and ignition. Not that you'll need the AFM for the Haltech anyway. I would suggest that you would seriously want to sit down with the pinouts for both ECUs and just go through them and highlight green what is the same, orange what is different/missing, and make a plan from there. It's not going to be difficult. It will either be the same or need to be fixed.
    • yeaaa that's why I haven't done any wiring to the stock ecu harness because I have the haltech, but then that leads me to the other question of "is the pnp harness really plug and play?" or would I have to still switch some pins/wires over because the pnp is for the rb25det neo harness, and not for the rb20de neo harness. was really hoping to find something to spoon feed me since so many people have done rb20neo + t conversions, but man this is rough.
    • Temu raptor, lol. At least the owner isn't your typical ranger danger lot
