Hey all,

I have the generic cheapie universal intercooler kit for r32/r33/r34.

I am interested in hearing about the install on r32 GTS-t's.

Did you have to do anything special to secure it at the top? I've spoken to sam (slim) who had to weld to secure it.

Can I keep my airbox?

And any other special things that you needed to do? I am aware of chopping the front bar, chopping the fan, chopping a hole in the chassis... anything else?

Thanks

Sam

Hey Mate,

Other than what I mentioned the other night, we also had to cut a oval shapped hole under the airbox for the turbo outlet pipe to the IC. Also mine still fits with the stock airbox, but im not using stock one now.

Did you have to do anything special to secure it at the top? I've spoken to sam (slim) who had to weld to secure it.

you could do it without welding , but it was by far easier for me to weld it than to get the pipe and drill holes and use bolts etc

the only thing welded was a solid bar to go from each bolt hole on teh top of the IC , then in the centre an L braket welded so it could be bolted to the bonnet latch support.

reason for this was, the std REO bar is not being used behind the front bar, so nothing to bolt to using the supplied brackets.

mine was installed by my mechanic at Mercury Motorsport.. they did no welding as far as i know of

but, the kit's pipes begin from the bottom of the airbox. so to asnwer whether it can be used with an airbox, the answer is yes. i know i am

cheers,

Warren
