Sunnycoast- so that would mean you live in the noosa area cause thats the only place i drive with the exceptions of the maleny/montville area once every fortnight. work for me is to hectic to go elsewhere

Not even close. Live in the Buderim area. Suprised i don't see you too much up in Maleny/Montville..... Think i have seen you at alex once or twice. Maybe theres just too many r33 4doors getting around these days. Either way, let me know when your coming down so i can meet ya.

Take it easy matey.

Chris

budrim, actually i do go up there a bit. normally at the budrim tavern sunday nights for dinner or dropping my lil sis off at her bfs.

the best way to identify my car is the black and gold number plates and the black rims. there is also the japan sticker i put over the the being active one on the back bumper.

i go up montville late at night with some of my mates which are soon to be joined by a sprinter when its on the road  only got pistons, a ecu and paint to go.

and then there is the mod plate for the turbo and road worthy...

Ouch, that sounds expensive. i got quoted $100 for all windows by tint-mart thats if i sourced my own tint. Sunnycoast can lead u in the right direction, he got his done today for fairly cheap i believe.

100 sounds better to me.

my mates used to own tint a car but since they sold it its gone down hill round here. i gave it a go and dont like the work no more.

and i just found out i have to road worthy my car thank god it is stock

Hey,

Had my 5th car done today at RTC 4x4 in Nambour. Ask for the owner (Phillip) and tell him Christian sent you in for a good deal. Very reliable and do an excellent job. - Dont let the look of the place fool ya, they are good at what they do.

RTC 4x4Shp 5/ 27 Coronation Ave Nambour 4560 (07) 5476 0277

i havent been out in my r33 for around 4 weeks and even then that was a quick route to avoid friday afternoon traffic on the high way. last time i was at montville was feb. havent been allowed to drive again till just recently. still dont have clearance to drive a manual either :D but it shoudlnt be long.

the cars that are usaully that way is a fluro green ke70, 180 sx and i am a little hazy of the rest. the fluro green ke70 is off the road thou at the moment so he is driving his otehr one which is naked green.

    • Yep, replacing all those hoses is kind of just bog standard if you're ever back there. Only hose on the back of the engine I have yet to replace is a vacuum hose for the wastegate. I'll probably do it eventually but it's in such an annoying spot.
    • I was actually just planning on replacing the fourth gear parts in the gear box that I broke … like the synchro hub or cone. And any other parts I need once I open up the transmission. That a bad idea? The rest of the gears feel tight. these parts shouldn’t be too much … just the labour here won’t be cheap. Just replacing these in HK would be around 2k aud including labour.    how much is a new r33 or r32 transmission?    thanks for the good info as usual
    • I chose a bad time to buy, at the time there was no gtst's for sale in NSW and my options were qld, vic, or sa and not the greatest examples or too far out of my budget. Ended up picking this one from adelaide sight unseen and got a bit stitched up as you could expect but i dont fully regret it, its just a shame people cant be more transparent in this day and age.
    • IMO just buy a whole R33 transmission and swap the whole thing. Use a palm nailer/air hammer with a roll pin punch to drive the shifter rod end roll pins out. The rod end is discontinued so don't break it. Use gasket dressing on the OEM paper gasket instead of RTV. I personally would not pry on the shifter cover tabs, I broke one trying that instead of just smacking the side with a dead blow rubber mallet to shock it loose from the RTV the last mechanic applied. If you can't get the flanges totally clean and free of any residual RTV and/or you might have a gap that is bigger than it should due to flange damage use RTV on that surface instead of the OEM specced anaerobic sealer. Anaerobic sealer is most likely the right sealant for the job, it's just too easy to mess it up with too large a gap or bad surface prep/roughness seemingly. If you do rebuild what you have it's for a whole gearset that can take high torque. Don't bother with OEM at that point.
    • Little hose. Big hose. They're all waiting to kill the engine.
