I've got my hands on some semi slick tyres and I've realised that they are too small! They are 205/45/16. The previous tyres were 205/55/16. They look very small on the skyline!! :(

I'd have to adjust the centre of wheel to guard height because obviously it's a fair bit out with the smaller tyres!

Just wondering - is this going to cause any major issues with handling, speed or dynamics of the car?

dont adjust your ride height. your centre of rim to guard height will be the same no matter the size rim/tyre. think about it

you will have a lower top speed, but will accelerate faster.

you will also have less sidewall flex because of the smaller sidewall.

can possibly make the car more twitchy too

Yep you're right, thinking about it now!

Thanks for your input guys!

If anyone's got some 205/55 R16 Semi's lying about that they want to get rid of, let me know :)

Yeah they felt incredibly quick with acceleration.

That could also have had something to do with the fact that my road wheels and tyres are 24kg per corner... The semi's and their rims are only 10kg per corner! lol

I will have to change gears at lower speeds which worries me a bit more though
