Watched that a while ago witha friend...did some reading about the Roger Williamson accident

The marshalls were slow to react because they saw David Purley next to the car and thought he was the driver...didnt realise he was another driver. Sadly thats one story. The other is the marshalls well, words such as cowardice is used in some reports :)

Scary truth he was uninjured in the car and for over 2 minutes was unable to get from the car whislt he fire was small...when it really caught on he did from asphyxiation. Apparently screaming at David Purley to help him... imagine being Purley

The Ricardo Paletti is another horrible one...really they are all horrible

pretty heart wrenching stuff but well put together .after driving speedway for 20 yrs ive seen a few killed in action it always hits the drivers hard. its the risk you take for the sport you love

Senna was the best. I don't need to say anymore than that. As if it was his time to go, brought tears to my eyes when I was a kid he was my hero. It was above my saddest sporting moments such as Baggio missing penalty in WC1994 and Australia bowing out to Italy this year. Ayrton was a god damn legend. I reckon Felipe Massa can be the new Senna. Hes driving for the right team I guess, Ferrari are gonna be on fire this season...

    • I found the same with Subaru’s.  I own and love the SG9 Forester, after that model 2008+, Subaru threw the ugly stick at all their line up and somehow managed to make them look worse with every succeeding year.  lol
    • It's something we all have to consider as time marches on. Also consider lifted rally MX5 conversion at that point.
    • I should be fine for a few more years, whilst I do have arthritis I also exercise and do mobility training every day to keep as fit and healthy as I can, military life, which is the actual cause of most of my joint issues, has set daily regimes, which I weirdly enjoy I also train alot smarter now, not really focusing on lots strength or puffy muscles, I'm more focused on maintaining what I have for my future older self, I actually train as much mobility now as I do exercising Check out this "simple" drill I have been doing daily prior to training now for a while now, this has worked wonders in my all round mobility
    • I'd say one thing that may make you sell is the same reason the guy with the hard top roof sold his. He got old, and his back was giving him too much grief stopping him getting in and out... Old guy said he was 73! He looked and sounded younger than 73 to me! Or maybe I'm just aligning with old people more...
    • Already looked at a few prior to getting the MX5, really nice car, had all the mod cons, but I wasn't really sold on the new "look" I did miss my 2017 Limited, and I personally prefer the "look" of the older car over the new model, but, when pondering I kept going back looking at MX5's But it was same same for the new ND's, I wasn't sold on the new "look", especially the RF with its weird roof, which only half goes down, like a targa top sort of thing As I stated before, I did look at NC's, but the cars I looked at were PRHT's, but I didn't like their roof line "look" of the PRHT, until I saw the soft top version, (someone on SAU posted a for sale ad for one with a soft top that caught my attention, you can blame them for my choice.....🤣) and.... that old style detachable hard tops were available for them, which keeps the old MX5 more smoother flowing roof line, and the more rounded body style, similar to the NA-NB, to me, the arse end of the ND looks to "modern" Much like how I prefer the NC1 front bar, over the later models How long will I keep this car for is unknown, but currently, there's nothing else out there that "floats my boat" for a small, fun, little "sports car", that I can play with and enjoy looking at and driving But, who knows what the future holds, and going off current new car styling, if I replace it, it will be a older model something something
