clinging noises below the steering column??

This is weird but everytime when i start mycar when it is cold and turn on the climate control, i hear some clinging noises coming out from the steering column? anyone else also experience this?

thanks for the reply, but the AC is off.. only air. The sound is pretty loud I must say.. don't know how to describe it but it is like a teaspoon hitting the side of a cup..

how many clicks? I know my car ticks sometimes about 8 times when i turn on cc even without ac, but not if i have the foot vent selected. Im supposed to be working on it this weekend, so ill let you know what i find

the directional thinges for the vents .. the climate control seems to decide where the air will vent from if on auto ....

mine will make simliar noises ...

yeah i have the same problem it mainly happens when the temp is set to the warmer degrees. But when i change it to the coldest temp the noise is gone.

It's a little box behind the dash that moves where the air goes to, i.e. floor, face or windscreen. I got mine replaced by an airconditioning place and it cost me $80. The box cost $20 from Nissan so if you can find it and do it yourself it wouldn't cost too much. It's bloody annoying and embarising every time people get in your car!!

Perhaps if you do the cc diagnostics it will tell you if something's wrong. Don't ask me how as I can't remember.
