so i've undone the centre lock nut and the three little grub screws underneath the horn button on my R32 GT-R, but the wheel still seems to be held on by something or other.

anyone know what else i need to do to get it off? or is it maybe just wedged real tight on the steering-column?

feels like something will break if i'm anymore violent with it!

i even loosened the reach adjuster on the column off so i could 'slide-hammer' the wheel when pulling it back

so you're sure there's nothing else that needs undoing?

dude put the nut back on a thread or 2 like the beer baron said and then with your knees push up on the steering wheel the start bang on the back of the steerin wheel towards u it'll come off i had the same prob wid my gtst just bang dont get a hammer and break the shit and make sure the nut is on otherwise u'll rip it off striaght into ur face and have no nose left.

there are two possibilities, either I'm sure, or I'm lying and just want to you snap your wheel!.lol

no, i am 100% sure. both my 32s have aftermarket wheels on them. both of them were installed by me. once that big nut is off, there is nothing keeping it there bar the fact it's wedged on the splines like a mo fo.

just put the nut back on a bit as once it comes free it's going to be travelling towards your head at a rate of knots. I know of a few numb nuts with bloody noses thanks to aftermarket steering wheel intall attempts gone wrong.! :)

lol,

steering wheels can be an absolute bitch, just keep trying it will come eventually. you can also get a friend to hold one side of the wheel, you hold the other side and pull hard. sometimes, bashing it side to side really quickly from the front with your fists helps to loosen it.

you can buy steering wheel pullers, but you should be able to get it with some time and effort. It took me 20 minutes to remove a steering wheel one time.....

Shaun I found success by rocking it back and forth from left to right.

Pull hard from the left, then pull hard from the right. Rinse and repeat. You'll end up walking it back towards you and then BAM! you'll be glad you listened to Beer Baron so you don't look like poor Sumo :)
