Nissan To Join Formula 1

New speculation suggests that the Nissan brand might unite with the world of formula one racing in the near future.

Also reporting a link between the Japanese carmaker and former team owner Alain Prost, French newspaper 'Le Journal du Dimanche' said Nissan could join the grand prix grid in 2008.

Nissan is part owned by Renault, so they sort of have a tie to F1 anyway (sort of.......)

Cheapest way would be to rebadge customer Renault F1 engines as Nissan units. Not sure they would be very successful in comparison to the factory renault effort. Redbull Nissan anyone...

The renault connection maybe benificial and also not so beneficial at the same time-The last thing Nissan need is a long hard slog in F1 and end up providing the mid field with another team. Toyota has gone through hundreds of millions of dollars to prove ...nothing really

Renault Junior Team, though they are already supplying engines to a 2nd team, and dont really have thay big a spend. Maybe a move back to Rallying, with Nissan taking over F1?

Nope, wont happen. At best they mayn try a sportscar program using the NIssan name, but i doubt even that

might be their marketing strategy to also help promote the upcoming R35 GTR and by getting more active again in motorsport?
