radar detectors - whats good?

well if anyone else is looking for detectors ive noticed that they are the one thing that actually goes for a cheap price on ebay.

just make sure the seller ships internationally. HEAPS of cheap cobra detectors...uniden are about twice as much, and bel are 3times as much.

What about these new radar detectors the cops have.

They don't stick outside the car anymore, its this bache round thing that sits on the drivers side, near the pillar.

They also have one at the back, that picks up speeding cars behind them.

Are they using the same frequency?

From what i can remember the jammers are illegal and the cops can usually detect the radar jammers, but the radar detectors are passive, so there is no way to detect them other then noticing them... Besides the radar detectors are legal...

I have a V1, bought from the States. Detects all frequency bands used in Australia including Laser Guns. The only thing it does not pickup is road-based sensors type of cameras like red light and fixed speed.

It offers detection from Front, Rear, Left & Right. Approximate distance 1KM usually. Also indicates number of signals picked up and from which direction. Also includes distance to signal strength like commonly found in radar detectors. Price - AUD$1000 approximately with all accessories including concealed mounting.

    • I'll tell her I put in a new air filter on it, which, it would have anyway with the ITB's In the end she isn't to fussed, she spends lots of money on hair, nails, make-up and all the other "required" beauty products that women use, plus I grease the wheels with shiny gifts and holidays wherever and whenever I can She once questioned my car spending "budget", but after itemising everything she spends on herself, and what I spend on her, and the fact that I don't care if she does or doesn't wear make-up and fancy pants perfume, or requires new outfits for every wedding, funeral or anything else she deems worthy, and I'm quite happy to go "real" camping, instead of staying in hotels or jaunts on cruise ships, she decided not to press the subject on how I spend funds, and has never asked "how much did that cost" again, so a win to me And how often can you say you really get a win with the fairer sex? She is a good woman, and in the big picture, I'm really lucky.....that she hasn't killed me yet
    • What will you do when the Minister of War and Finance says the intake noises are too loud?
    • Will the clear coat dissolve the ink tho?? I thought about clear vinyl tape too. Thinking what to do haha. The one I have now is cracked in 1 spot, otherwise mint. Plus the MINES one is much thicker plastic material so its not flimsy at all.
    • No. Go a different colour, and just trim it at an edge line. Even manufacturers do different panels different colours etc.
    • I see no real downsides to ITB's, apart from the initial cost of my drive in drive out lifestyle, the "upsides" is they sound cool and would add lots of smiles I am willing to pay to play for the extra smiles I've spent the morning googling and youtubing the BBR ITB's, a "little" extra power and throttle response, but alot more dort, and really, I'm only really in it for the dort Who knows, after all this money is spent I might even make 150kwatw....LOL
