thanks mate would u be so kind in giving me a link to it then? since i tried search before i posted this topic and i just did it again just incase and i couldnt find anything? :yucky: all i could find is tech problems and people wanting to convert their autos to manual, with no specific reason as to why a manual is better than an auto? anyone can tell u an auto with highstall will be better than a manual for drags assuming the strength is the same. This brings me back to my original question......does anyone know if the manual is stronger than the auto on an r34 gt-t? my bro is looking to buy an r34gt-t and this info would really help as the autos are a fair bit cheaper.

The general consensus is that the stock manual drivetrain in the gtt is good for up 300rwkw. The auto-tiptronic box is good for around 240kw. Hope that helps.

Thanks man, that helps alot...you say drivetrain, so it's not just the gearbox thats different?

There's certain differences with the autos and manuals, for instance the ecu - which has implications for your coilpacks, limited choice on turbos etc.

But don't let that put you off the tiptronic... i've got one, and i'm extremely happy with how it performs.

I cant imagine my stock GT-T clutch or lsd handling 300rwkw for too long, the stock diffs are crap thats why i replaced mine with a Nismo 2way and next thing on the is the clutch, but the gearbox seems to be fairly strong though :)

You'll burn clutches, but what i meant was you won't blow gearboxes. Anyhow, this is all second hand information to me from my tuner Shuan from Boostworx.
