What I dont understand and correct me if I am wrong on a MAJORITY basis NOT ALL !!!!!! but why is it P platers think that one or even two years driving on a road means they are bullet proof and have driving EXPERIENCE what i am saying time under the belt.

Im 30 years old and still get pulled over by the police so I am not totaly blaming the P platers but just remember that it is not the right to have a drivers lic but a privalige.

get experience or a track car if need be you never know you might one day get paid to drive fast

81 RWD 1.3L manual Rolla ( shouldn't have ever let this go but to slow)

99 FWD TJ 3.5L (Mums company Car)

89 FWD 2.6L Astron 2 Magna (bought this after seeing the powah of Magnas)

93 RWD SR20DET 180SX ( My uncle lent me his car for 3 months while he was in the USA)

89 FWD 2.0L Saab 900i ($800 8 months rego mech A1)

The rolla was such a great car to learn on (burnouts, touge, Drift) but just wasnt fast enough

The TJ magna was ball tearingly fast it shat ALL over the SR20DET and i'd take the magna over the 180 anyday

TP magna got rearended so with the payout I found the Saab which is an awesome car, 5spd man tops out over 230km/h and is so stable and has RWD characteristics.

I also drive my brothers Fiat X1/9 which is Mid engine deamon and my dads C200k.

It shits me that I can't leagally drive a turbo 900 saab which only puts out 129kw... STOCK commos have what like 150kw? thats SO stupid.

I practice driving any chance I get, both high speed runs on the M5 and tight mid speed racing through the suburbs I live in.

I've made such a long post that will get me flamed to death here but basically what I am saying is shit drivers who cant drive are still going to try and be big men and kill themselves in excels and Vk commos.

But someone like myself is only being limited in my driving experience because of these laws.

btw I've NEVER been pulled over and prollt the only way I would like to die is in a car crash, racing some other guy

Dude I don't think its a good idea 'practicing' 'high speed' and 'mid speed' racing at all. You never know what could happen on the streets because you cant predict the environment. Someone could be pulling out of a driveway and you come racing around the corner at 80kmh thinking your practicing for F1. Racing around on the streets doesnt make you a good driver it makes you an idiot.

The laws are stupid simply banning turbos, but its people like you who will eventually get young people banned from driving at all.

No offense, but I totally agree on this. There're tons of young drivers here on the road who do crazy stunts like tailgate at 140km/h, drift all over the place with heavy traffic and hang their heads out of the car screaming in the middle of the highway and thinking they're cool. I highly doubt that the passengers are screaming out of fear for their lives, but you'll never know..

IMHO, the government needs to do something about the mentality of the drivers here and not just put them off turbocharged cars. This new law doesn't do much, and those punks are still as irritating as hell, turbo car or not, and i just happen to be one of those drivers who love to slam my brakes if someone tailgates me when i drive fast (new parts, body kit, exhaust, lights, all for free... you get what i mean?)

Ok 1st point made. Restriction on p plats is for them to learn therer environment at a slow speed

2nd a na/car is able to still reach 110+ but not at a lightening speed which may not be controlable.

3rd these laws are to curb young death if these laws save one life then it has worked .

The laws are a bit silly, you can't drive a merc kompressor with 110kw and 4 star crash rating but can jump straight in 350z or sv6 commo. It doesn't take a turbo or supercharger to kill yourself. It is a 7 point fine for driving turbo/super or v8. My mate lost his licence for driving his old shitta vh commo. Enough with the bullshit........

Sorry to hear about what happened to your father bud I have had friends in the same thing I also seen a accident where a P plater in the Hunter valley was speeding I would have to say 140 in a 70 zone went through a red light as had two other mates in the car looked at the time laughing and having a great time showing how great he was and smacked straight into a MERC which had the green light killed the three people in side two where young doctors and their 5 month old baby .

So imagin the impact that has not only had on ther families but the lives they may of saved in the future three young and taletend lives lost for what ?
