Don tbother tryin gto do it by hand, far too labour intensive, a Dremel is a great tool and comes with plenty of polishing stones/flapper wheels etc meaning you can have the job doen is a day.

I dont know where Kewdale is but a tool place called Total Tools in Wetherill Park has Dremels on sale at the moment for $230 i think, and this comes with free flexible shaft (basically over $300 normally)

Depending on the finish your after, you may need some polishing cream and pads that look like lambs wool seat covers.
