Damn nice looking car but they are aging and will cost you twice that if you have bad luck. An expensive car to fix and insure... low entry price and quite a supply equals low desirability unfortunately, makes them almost uneconomical for all but those that want that exact car (GTR). Shame.

You have to be cashed up and careful IMO.

after looking at heaps i can say there a lots that are shitpiles

Airon vents snapped, missing stereos, ripped interior trims, ceramic turbos on last legs, 17 year old motors that are timebombs, abused drivelines, dodgy repairs, faded paint/cracked spoilers, rust in rear guards. And since only an enthusiast would want to spend 10k on a new motor, 3k on turbos, 1k+ on a clutch or $100+ on an air vent then you can see why not many people can afford to own AND repair one.

For a little extra they can get a 33R and a lot newer car

Yer - but we all know that an R33 isn't a "proper" GT-R ;)

I would prefer the R32 GTR to the R33 GTR but as a lot are old now they are all on engine rebuild times. It is either rebuild it or one that is you are still paying good money for and are still counting on it being done properly.

I bought a 15k GTR once... didn't last long.

I wouldn't touch one without a compression test, leak down test and rebuilt turbos if not aftermarket ones. CV boots and other undercar pieces are aging and need replacing, as well as bushes and what not all around the car.

just get a r32 gt with a r33 gtr engine in it, problem solved!
