Won't matter a bugger if it's dry.Tread only reduces grip in dry weather. That's why racers run slicks at every opportunity. If it's damp you'll get tail happy. If it pisses down wait until it stops.Keep fingers crossed, take bible, watch out for black cats.

Come to think of it can't you get some secondhand ones with decent tread to tide you over? Much safer for cops and wet weather.

It still does matter if the road is dry.

Yes, tread depth only matters for the rain, but when tyres are that worn, they are old and hard and ahve no traction at all.

Illusive, I wouldn't be touging anythign with shit tyres. Just drive it like a grandma until you can afford new tyres.

It doesn't matter whether you run 20 psi, 30 psi or 40 psi. they'll be shit anyways.

Lower pressures will increase your contact patch, but decrease the tyre's resistance to sidewall flex. So you're talking trade-offs.

What kind of tyres are they? If they are a sports tyre with reinforced sidewalls in the construction, you can afford to run lower pressures.
