hi

The other day i ran my car till it was almost empty (something which i NEVER do). The gauge had about 1mm before it hit the empty line.

When i was filling it up, the car only took 43L. When it should be a 65L tank.

So it takes no expert to work out that my fuel gauge is out by 22L.

Moral of the story, does anyone know how to fix this problem or should i just take it to a proper mechanic?

thanks

by the way its a S1 R33 GTS

Ummm correct me if i'm not reading this right...ur fuel needle hasn't even reached the empty line? Usually it goes beyond the empty line before you actually run out. Also when the warning light comes on, u should still be able to get around 50ks more. I don't think there's anything wrong with ur gauge at all..but I could be wrong.

I'm with Nismo on this one. Mine would probably only take just over 40L if it above tthe E mark. Once it gets on the E mark its about 45-50L and I can still drive around on the E mark before the warning light shows, which is still 7-8L in the tank I believe.

Seriously though, I wouldn't worry until the warning light comes on.

Fixxxer :(

you will find most cars do this. that is because the car companies know that as a whole, humans are stupid animals. many people will be on a trip somewhere, 50ks from a servo when they happen to take a look at the gauge and see that it is nearly empty. so they need a saftey net.
