Ok, got pulled over on the way home this afternoon. All good just a random check... but... whilst I was talking to one pig, the other was taking pictures of my car. WTF?

Question; why does he do these things now?

AND

Can I ask him why he is taking pictures? And can I ask him if there are any good ones he can email me?

But seriously, can I ask him not to or what?

They usually take pics in the engine bay to send to epa, as most police officers are clueless about mods. But if they didn't pop your bonnet, i have no idea why they take pics; unless they were also clueless about ride height, wheels, ect...

as the numberplate says "Victoria on the move" pictures yes im sure they can take them, But i would question the fact is that if there is nothing wrong, why take pictures, there is no benefit for them? And as a citizen of society you are allowed to ask, and im sure by law they have to tell you on that note.

i saw some new software they were using in syd on the news.

had a laptop with a cam, and they were cross referencing cars that drove through. like an identification system or something. maybe the pics are for that type of database.

You probably won't be saying that if your vehicle gets stolen and Police have images at hand to be able to cross reference with any other cars they pull over.

Unless your car has stolen parts on it, there's no reason for you to worry.

As stated above photo's as taken as evidence. That way when you receive the EPA notice there is no discrepancy between what you say and what the officer says. If there is they simply provide the photo’s as evidence. If you refuse the photo’s or kick up a stink they’ll probably just tow you car or ream you. Not in you best interests trust me.
