I mean if you crash it because of inexperience, cop trouble (GTR>P-plater>??), stuff breaks & you can't afford to get it fixed, that sort of thing. I wasn't being a smart arse, I was just saying to take what's been said by other people seriously, it's responsibility now.

Of course I could save it because I don't really give a shit about the details & I know I could chop you in my gtst anyway :yes: But I did mean it because now your into a different side of the driving world & even as a skyline driver respresenting the responsible enthusiasts amongst us.

Ive been hurting laps around Perth for the past week and im sure my twins are exhausted and out of boost lol!

Now its back to reality, the GTR is in the garage, and im back to driving the Nissan Pulsar SSS as my daily driver. And ill bring out the beast only when I haveto! (i.e. cruises, woopass weds, and dates)

That should save me some petrol...

good luck going driving the gtr on the weekends :) i know so many people that have a bunky and a nice car and they seems to drive the nice car more than the bunk hehe :P:)

And Remember if you need any help on Information on the GTR, what parts you should change etc etc, if you have any problems just post up, althou you will get the typcial replys there are a few people out there that will post something helpful :)

dont buy a copy kit, you will find it will fit poorly and need modifation to fit right.

If you want a to kit ur gtr do it right and get a real one.

I would say get incontact with C-red, as they do m-sports kit and they may be able to source you are real Top-sercet kit

Check out the Group Buy thread for suspension kits by Sydney Kid, cat knows his stuff. Ask him about revalving the shocks for a track orientated spec :P or go to W.A. suspensions and see Rod Ryan or Brad (skyline owners) and get some adjustable teins. Or leave it alone and have some money for living your life :yes:

Comes with a coil over kit, but there are alot of guys who are very happy and producing good lap times with the tiens, mine should be out of the shop in a few weeks so i'll post the results.

but enter the track just dont set it up for nothing..

well put. actually get it out on the track and learn how to drive the thing before modifying it. and when you do modify it, take it out and use it for what it was ment to do at the track. you can learn the limits of your car in a safe environment instead of on the streets and ending up wrapped around a pole.

The bunky is only there for when the good car is broken :(

And on the topic of getting on the track.. anyone here do any motorkhanas and such? There's a monthly one out at the SpeedDome I've been contemplating..

I too have also previously stated that I am jealous, I worked long and hard to buy my R32 GTSt and it has been a long time coming. I must say I would probably prefer the rear wheel drive goodness.. just means you gotta be on the ball all the time.. hard coilovers + boost at the wrong time = lots of sideways :)

well i cant but i hate seeing cars go to waste if they are setup..

sounds like mine.. all the suspension work under the sun is done, and its never seen a track in 2 years..

that said, its barely seen the ROAD in 2 years... (bunky/company car gets driven alot, skyline is almost like a monthly thing now days :))

definately work on handling as your first mods (if you do any.. i imagine a 33 GTR would exhaust your fund source at 17 :P)

mines had handling done, nice kit and rims, and only now am i starting to push out a few more horsies.. cant wait to put it to its proper use on a track soon!

    • Don't use that manifold. Please don't use that manifold. Sunk cost fallacy is not worth the later pain. None of these will be relevant to the change that will come from the different turbo and manifold. As in, the effect of the exhaust will be nil, regardless of what else is changed. And all the cam and fuel system stuff is not changing either way, so has no effect. The turbo and manifold (and to a small extent the wastegate)....big change.
    • Just wanted to say thank you for your input   my man (lead mechanic by trade) and I have done a heap of work as you can imagine just to make the hot side work with the dump pipe, stupid massive intake on turbo, trying to get the waste gate on was not fun.  I’m kinda getting to the point where I don’t know if I try and make this work and not throw all this cash and time away or do I scrap the lot and start again? the Apexi I’ve got was tuned for a few slight differences:   Tomei pon cams (mine are stock neo) Turbo smart 38mm external waste gate (mines 45mm replumbed) with stainless screamer pipe  3inch turbo back exhaust with high flow cat Sard 800cc top feed injectors Sard adjustable fuel pressure reg    
    • Out here E90s are the cheapest way into a sporty-ish car because everyone knows just how expensive the repairs can get. 8-10k USD for an automatic 335i. 
    • Noted. Have noticed BMW are more 'high maintenance' for sure. They've attracted my attention as I think the used car prices seem reasonable vs other options, and the extra quality overall vs a commodore / camry / corolla or similar of the same vintage is appealing, especially the interior, and they are more on the sporty side whereas the others mentioned can be more cruising or economical A-to-B only.
    • Haha yeah I know, this is SAU after all, why are we talking about BMW's of all things!? I hear you on the 'don't have to worry about it' side of things. Having been fortunate enough to be have been able to buy a brand new motorbike or two...never really enjoyed them as much as I'd have liked as you worry so much about where you park it, will it get scratched, stolen, attempted theft, knocked over, etc...and yes dirty. Older less valuable bikes you can just go where you want and park it wherever and not really worry that much in comparison. And who cares if it gets dirty! Never owned a V8, and have had my eyes on VE / VF commodores for years but with their prices climbing so high, the M3 has come into focus more as prices are much closer than I've ever seen...is it a potential contender now?...of course need to factor in the S65 'maintenance' especially and like you said general M car 'tax'. One can dream anyway. But more on the reality front - did read the whole 330i thread as well and was a great read too, both threads enlightening as I've never even driven one of these cars! I do recall 330i didn't seem to have the same amount of issues for almost the same car (turbos and related differences notwithstanding)...perhaps down to getting it earlier in it's life so looked after better than the 335i? Perhaps so as your 130i has been good and quite similar, so finding a car that's been looked after well is the especially-crucial-BMW-first-step.
