Speed Needle Shakes

Hey,

Ive noticed on low speeds of driving, 0-30km/h, my speed needle wobbles up and down and then is normal after 40km/h.

Car is r32 gtst

Anyone know how to fix this problem?

I have the same problem, but not exactly sure how to fix it. I might have read somewhere that the speedo cable from the gearbox might be damaged if the needle bounces. Any comments???

yeah most likely a sticky speedo cable.

guys this is most likely your speedo cable. you can pick them up from import wreckers etc but id suggest to get a genuine new 1 from nissan. mate of mine has been through several from wreckers and always has the same problem with it. fork out the extra dough and buy a new cable. it runs from the back of your speedo cluster to the side of the gearbox.

mine kicks back when i hit 110km/h...

so if im on the freeway, doing 100km/h, and go over to 110km/h, it flicks back to 100 a couple of times then stays at the speed im doing.

and i have had a new speedo cable installed....

The part number is 25050-05U00. However thats the partnumber for the R32 GTR. I think they are all the same. Around $95 dollars

thanks, i'll have to give nissan a call and see what they say. my holidays are coming soon so i'll have time to put a new one in and see if it fixes the problem

Mine goes straight to 60kms as soon as i start moving.

Stays there...all the way to say 110.

If i go to 120+ it drops back to Zero !

We all have the same problem. Mine usually bounces on low speeds and it clicks at 110km/h as well!

Cbf changing the cable tbh.

my souloution... save money (lots of money) buy a sexy stack dash and make sexy carbon panel to mount it in, can't say i have ever been real impressed with the stock instruments but i suppose r32's are getting a bit ancient now.
