Intercooler Advice

After spending all day neatening up the hacked intercooler holes in the bodywork of my 32 skyline (previous owner). I discovered a hole in the intercooler pipework(cheap hybrid copy thin blue anodised alloy). Has anyne had this experiance be4, did you just get an alloy welder to tack up the hole? any will tere be a performace difference (hole is abot 5 mm wide)

I was also wondering if anyone knows a good cheap metal polisher in brissie area.

hole in the pipe will make a diffrence. lose in power & boost. (from what ive read on the forum)

there is this putty called "quiksteel" or something similar to that - its awesome for repairing anything metal... as long as its not the chassis i guess. I used it to repair a hole in my piping. It comes as a putty and u can form it over the hole and it goes rock hard after 10mins. it can take a lot of load, bonds very well as long as everything is clean and can take a lot of heat too (u can repair radiator with it - 200+degC)

just make sure u take off the section of pipe and make sure the inner surface is smooth and that there is not going to be any loose bits in the flow before u go for a drive.

personally weld it up that way there is no dramas of anything breaking of and falling in your pipes and it will definitly seal it up

you just have to be careful getting it welded. if they have the welder too hot and the piping is too thin it will just melt a bigger hole.

It ended up being closer to the end of the pipe as first thought.. so i just got a longer silicon hose(Expensive!!) and shes all good.
