Hey!

I've got an intresting issue with my 94 R33 GTST, when i push the car, full throttle, and comes up above 5000-5500 RPM's the car feels like its retarding the ignition or something, cause when i let the gas of a small bit the car actually accelerates better.. like its getting to much fuel. Just the way a N/A car acts when changing to an open air-filter and it can breeth to good..

This is when im running the standard boost. Acts the same way when raising the boost, but as a pre-caution i've let the boost be standard for now.

Maybe a longshot but.. could it be that its running to lean (so that the sensor in the cat feels that its getting to hot), and the ECU is retarding the ignition as a safety-thing?

I ran the car with a broadband-lambda, checking the values under pressure, and i got some bad values, under pressure the mix went down to lean mid 11's.. shouldnt it be about mid 13's?

Might this be it, or is there something else going on??

Cheers!

Also has a lot to do with air velocity.

When you close the throttle a little bit you increase the speed of the air.

I get the same effect.

I used to get the same effect in my Calais too.

sometimes wide open throttle isn't as good as just enough throttle.

my car did the same thing when i had a cracked plug. It would miss badly at full throttle from 4500 up, but accelerate through this point at lesser throttle opening and it would be fine. weird, but an ignition problem it was! hope that helps.
