Do I Need Tensioner Pulley Or Idler Pulley?

On my R32 GTST either the tensioner or the idler pulley has siezed up. It is the pulley on the passenger side.

I'm not sure which one it is because I haven't pulled the bottom half of the timing cover off yet because i need to bring home a harmonic balancer puller from work.

Can anyone help me out? I'd like to get the new pulley ordered so i can have the car back on the road tomorrow. Catching a bus to work just isn't fun!

if you like your valves to remain working, you should change both of them.

if one is seized the other will be shortly.. replace both and be happy that your engine survived..

a new head and pistons are a little expensive

Well they were both replaced not that long ago so i was thinking the idler pulley that was put on may have been faulty?
