Yea that last one does not look like a 34.. looks like something totally different.. i smell a wanna be.. why spend all that money when you can buy a REAL skyrine

tonight thinking about heading to Iron Chef Chinese`s (i forget which one he is, Chen Kenichi I think) restaurant in Roppongi. I`ve heard it`s very good. Plus the novelty factor would be worth it too.

God I hope you didn't end up bothering with Chen Kenichi's restaurant. The most overhyped restaurant i've ever been to. Plus you dont have to go all the way to Roppongi as he's got a branch in Shibuya at the Cerulean Tower hotel which has the same menu... He never cooks at his own restaurants from what i've seen and heard (asked the staff).

Also the food is shit and way overpriced. 3,000 + yen for Ma po tofu.... WTF and you dont even get rice included.

yep, Wink got there. It's an S14. Pretty good use of an S14 I reckon. It looked crazy in real life.

thanks for the tip Kris, I will give Chen's restaurant a miss.

had a great day today at Asakusa and Ginza. Bought a new laptop from the sony building in Ginza. It's awesome. It was just released 4 days ago in japan and is carbon fibre bodied! Weighs only 1.5kg and has a finger print scanner too! Played some more PS3 and got a bit of a crowd going watching me play, and even won a round of applause when I finnished and the japanese girls working there said I was "number 1" I was chuffed! I think I'm going to buy a PS3 this weekend when they are released here.

Tonight was Daikoku and awesome. Went for a nice freeway blast in a HKS 2.8/T04Z powered 34. Over 650ps at the wheels! awesome....

pics coming.

that's the top secret built 34 on the left and my generous ride for the night. the sound it made at full noise in the freeway tunnels of the wangan route were awesome. external gate, and custom made top secret titanium exhaust can't be beat.

heaps of nice 32s in attendance too:

the quality of the cars blew me away. All GTRs too of course.

the power and response of this set-up was just un real. HKS 2.8. HKS T04Z. HKS V-cam. HKS Fcon V Pro. All built and tuned by top secret. If there is a better package out there for a fast yet easy to live with street car I can't think of it. It was scary fast.

some 33 love here too:

if old school is more your taste we've got that too:

that's all for now. It's nearly 2:30 am and I just got back to my room, and my ears are still ringing from those tunnel 'excursions'. Will try and do some more tomorrow nigh. Got heaps of other nice random japan pics to share.

Sweet pics. The dark blue on that R32 GTR looks very good.

They remind me of some pics I saw in HPI once about the same sort of gathering (and maybe even same location).

EDIT: What car was that behind the Hakosuka?

Also notice some American muscle there.

the car behind the old skyline was a Ferrari 360 convertible. very nice.

yep, there was a mustang there too. Some really nice other skylines too. Two nice DR30s in particular.

sounds like ur having a good time... this trip sounds very different to the normal `im visting japan thread` from other people.

Plus you dont have to go all the way to Roppongi as he's got a branch in Shibuya

from chiba, roppongi and shibuya are exactly the same distance(travelling time)

    • Bump on this to not make another post, had a ‘head drain’ leak on me and have the engine out as we speak. Planning on just putting a new freeze plug back in , plug the tapped holes and just be done with that headache.    Now I still want to relieve pressure to allow oil to pass down the blocks returns easier. I’ve seen catch cans with multiple vents help folks with this issue on this forum.  I’m wanting to make my own. I have some pictures here of my setup if anyone can help how I should plumb and design the catch can I would deeply appreciate it !   rb25 Oil upgrades: 1.0mm restrictor n1 pump/billet gears extended crank collar  extended sump with trap doors/w welded fitting
    • The Frenchy's kit is the way to go forward. A modern compressor that weighs about 1/2 as much, is at least twice as efficient, and will do a good job on R134a. And of course the kit has everything else you need to connect it up and have it work properly.
    • Hey all , I am in the process of having the AC system in my r32 GTST converted from r12 to r134a and I’m being told my compressor has gone bad and I will need a new one. I was wondering if anybody has any suggestions for what is the best route to go aside from dropping $1500 on a new oem one? I did see that Frenchy’s performance garage offers a kit to mount a Toyota compressor, has anybody actually used this kit on their car? Or is there anywhere I could purchase just a clutch? Any help is appreciated.
    • Well, your RB20 ECU loom won't have wires for the boost solenoid, that boost sensor, and possibly one or two other things. There could be differences in seemingly random things like the charcoal canister purge solenoid, because the 25DET has to handle boost in the vacuum system and the 20DE does not. I don't know - I haven't looked. It is very likely that all the most important things are same-same, being the main sensors like AFM, CAS, etc, and the injectors and ignition. Not that you'll need the AFM for the Haltech anyway. I would suggest that you would seriously want to sit down with the pinouts for both ECUs and just go through them and highlight green what is the same, orange what is different/missing, and make a plan from there. It's not going to be difficult. It will either be the same or need to be fixed.
    • yeaaa that's why I haven't done any wiring to the stock ecu harness because I have the haltech, but then that leads me to the other question of "is the pnp harness really plug and play?" or would I have to still switch some pins/wires over because the pnp is for the rb25det neo harness, and not for the rb20de neo harness. was really hoping to find something to spoon feed me since so many people have done rb20neo + t conversions, but man this is rough.
