F**K YEH!

Thanks to all that organised this. I had a great time, it was just so layed back for the last week and so much fun. I'd definantly be up for one of these trips again. For those of you who didn't come because your cars weren't perfect your really missed out, big time! No one really worried to much about super fast times it was all just about having a good time.

To the NSW guys who turned up your all great people and you made our visit even more enjoyable. Hope to see you around next time we come up or you come down.

Briz I almost had my car catch on fire. It turned out to be and exhaust leak blowning onto the firewall blanket and the car filled with smoke. Two sessions after Nige had the same issue but it was his big ass hot turbo.

As for who has the bigger dick. I see it as a bang for buck vs times. If you have a car like mine on street tyres with stock brakes and a/m suspension +290kw and I run 4-6 seconds a lap slower than everybody else then it a good thing. I know there is at least 2-3 seconds in my car as it is currently with the current suspension setup properly and me not being a hack driver. Hell if your unexperienced how else ae you going to go quicker than having practice. I could buy $1600 worth tyres, 4k brakes, 3k on more power, and 1k on suspension being setup proffensionally but I'm almost happy with what I've now got. I'd almost consider getting a cams half cage to run cheapo used slicks if there under $500 set.

People loose sight of what their happy with and what they want. You don't have to match the fast guys if you don't have a $40k-$100k car.

If your happy just drive it!

Unless everybody has the same cars with the same everything there is no point comparing times really.

Shit and giggles is what its all about for me! Just go out and do your best with what you brought and from now on take it home in one piece!

Team QLD won the wang banger drinking....a 1,2 finish i belive!

Thanks for an awesome few days guys :P

oh yes... I do believe I came 2nd :) :) :)

Who owns the Blue R32 (qld plates) with the bronze rims?

That's Buntas! It got washed today, so the front and rear rims actuallly match again.

Nice work guys, I had a fab time with you. James, you are simply hil-LARE-rious! :P you. There were a few people that seemed to think that they were better than everyone else, but all in all I must say a very nice bunch. Awwwww :) Bunts and I had a great time, we're already in planning for our next trip!

It always come back to whose dick is bigger.

Don't worry - we covered that.

I think Gareth's comments sum it all up though - was just sooo much fun to get out there and have a blast! Snowy and I went around Wakefield for about 5 laps just pissing ourselves laughing. Something everyone should do :)

Hehe - Thanks Can-na, so pleased to meet some more members of Team Extreme - messing with locals at country pubs should be an Olympic sport :)

BTW - another use for the megaphone, waking up Matt...

Hehe :P

Was looking at pics of Bunta's car...looks great. I really like those wheels. Good to see a GTSt out there :P

Briz I almost had my car catch on fire.

A little birdie with a megaphone was telling me about your woes and i have to say i cringed and pled to the gods that your car was ok. Then as i was beign assured it was ok the marshalls ran out on the track to save Nige's car... Good to read the close calls didnt end in tears :)

And Riverdance...your car is the coolest thing getting around...but please, just keep punting the thing sideways...it jsut wouldnt be the same if you drove the car straight :)

Was looking at pics of Bunta's car...looks great. I really like those wheels. Good to see a GTSt out there :)

Thanks :) It surprised me by how well it went too! I am a crap driver and I still got an ok time :P

I was about to park the car when I came up with the great idea of jamming a fire blanket down the front of the firewall. It was a little riska but I had driven all that way and to just sit there. I couldn't bare it so Nige and I went to the hardware store. I found my fireblanket and Nige did his dual gatorade bottle breather mod. It managed to hold up for the rest of the day although the blanket began smoke a little.

They wouldn't really be 32's if there wasn't something backyard in them.

The sideways action is getting a little harder in the gtr with the 4wd actually working and better susp. I'd still like to have a go at a drift night with rock hard stretched 215's on it all round with the extra power.

I give all of my credit to my new found wang. It slowed my speed down enough down the straight so my brakes didn't cook and did nothing noticable in the corners so the car handled as it alway did.

Shit happens Troy. Just begin dreaming of what you could be doing to your car before next year. Keep the RWD alive!

    • Initial/early bite is a feature of.....generic pads. Things that work cold. Just put Bendix Ultimate in it. If you don't like them, it's only $3.50 wasted and an hour to change them. I've been using Intima SR, and they seem to be a good performance pad. Street friendly and able to take at least a little beating.
    • This is my first post after registering.. I hope i can find useful resources on this forum. Great forum.
    • As I implied in my post, I have NO idea what the were. But in case I didn't make it clear, the way they performed was brilliant; whatever the brand was. I think it was the compound that made the difference. And if they were Bendix, then sign me up, I want another set. I did drive down mount Ousley (just outside of the Gong) a few times, and they showed no untowards performance.   Its not the low dust that I am looking for NOW. At the time I needed low dust, but now I have no issues with dust but want the initial/early bite of the pads that were used. Yeah, the early cold squeal may of been due to a missing shim or such.  And to repeat, its not the low dust I am seeking, its the initial bite of the pads and increase in bite as  the warmed up during each breaking. As soon as I let off, I don't remember the breaks being extra sticky if I used them again soon after. But I also did not test that theory.   Thanks for the recommendation, But I would prefer to choose something specifically with the behaviour I described.   I assume that they didn't use the default compound off the shelf, as we discussed the dust issue at length. And the early squeal when cold, I have seen the sound is more of an issue with some pad compounds. Mostly ceramic, which also are said to produce less dust.
    • Well, in 2007 he must have been charging about $1800 an hour. He only looked at the car for 5 minutes. And another 4 to write the report wrong, and another minute to correct it. Mind you, this was for a car that was: Stock engine, fmic (hole in drivers guard), all alloy intake and custom air box, 3 inch turbo back exhaust, lowered, and a set of 17" Advans (255/40/17 rear and 235/45/17 front). It was nothing crazy. The blue slipper wanted the "hole in the guard" engineered. But that was because he got the shits that I wouldn't "relocate the battery from the boot, back to the factory position in the engine bay"... In an R33 GTST...     Also for emissions, E85, and don't go wild on timing. It's amazing how the closer you get ignition timing towards max torque, the last couple of degrees really throw NOx counts right up. And for the huge increase in emissions, it's only a small increase in torque.
    • He'll be looking down and swearing about "the damn apprentice" for trying to convince Duncan to use percussive maintenance... 😛
