i thought there projected price was $85,000??????

The GT-R only costing $15K more than a 350Z, a car that shares most of its parts with the volume-selling V35 Skyline, as opposed to the totally bespoke GT-R?

Not a hope in hell.

i've always said $150-175K, and i'm going to stick with that. 997 turbo beater/competitor for half the price.

and 1800kg's?? hahah, the M5 and M6 tip the scales in that direction. Not a chance the GTR will.

From the lastest WHEELS magazine reckons the perhaps to be called R35 GTR wil have

330kw to possibly 370kw achieved at 6800RPM (there!)

3.7L V6 derived from the V35 series 3.5l V6

over 550nm of torgue at 5000rpm

both 6 speed manual and 7 speed DSG will be offered

to end all debates regarding its bulk, the source suggests 1690kg! :D

Peak power at 6800RPM isn't bad. It'll probably have a redline in the low to mid 7000RPM range, which is on par with the NA VQ35HR's 7500RPM cutout that is apparently the donor engine for the GT-R.

Its still not as revvy as the old RB's, but given the extra litre of displacement its not bad. And you can always try and bore it out (there are various sleeves available for the VQ block, as well as the possibility of destroking the engine) if you want it to rev.

I'd hope that 370kW (500ps) is a minimum. That's the Lexus LF-A's target power, and it has to be at least as powerful to be "competitive" on paper.

more importantly on par with 911 turbo's 6800rpm redline if the GTR is to match the turbos wider torque band. 500ps is more likely i agree consider 911 turbo has 480ps, and both honda and toyota's upcoming supercar were rumoured to have that kind of output.

ive got a brochure that came with my GTR from japan that features the GTR and by looking at pics it has a manual shifter. it must be an option to have a paddle shift. haha real GTRS rev to 8500rpm who the hell wants to rev to 6000rpm. GRJ120 prado rev higher lol.

well comparing it to the veryon isn't really comparing apples with apples is it? it costs 1 million dollars.

Holden and Nissan are mass producing car companies, and so is Porsche. Bugatti is not.

so strictly speaking, it's unfair on the commo to compare the HSV GTS to the GTR, 2 doors, 4 doors.

i agree, weight is a HUGE performance factor. Just look at the lotus elise lineup! f*ck all engine power, but some crazy 0-100 times, just because they weigh bugger all.

Well.. looking at the base spec V36's 4-doors (non-turbo) that have just come out, they're tipping the scales at around 1580-1800kg.. So you'd expect the GTR to be somewhere in that range, depending on what they do for weight-reduction in terms of panels, etc.

The VQ35HR is meant to have a 7500rpm red-line, and the GTR engine will be very close to that I'd say .. so I think that 6000 red-line is complete b/s.. it'll have 7500rpm minimum
