looking at your results roy, it would appear it could well be a 20 still.

is there any way to confirm without pulling the head off?

Simons turbine is now a bit smaller then yours but the one that i put in to replace the oversize was a Biagio race shaft.

Same major diameter, exducer but a little bit smaller on the inducer and a change in fin design.

And he is only running 15.5 psi so there should still be about 10-15rwkw in it after the injector upgrade and a little more boost.

I cant wait to see some results with camshafts and cam gears, They should well and truely break 250rwkw.

Dyno run as per request. Sorry it took a while, couldn't remember simons rego.

There is definitely more in it. Simons tune is extraordinarily conservative because he thrashes the life out if it and it's on the injector limit.

One day when i have more time i'll put it back on the dyno because i'm sure i can get it to spool quicker with some timing adjustments.

These turbos seem to come to life at around 16-18 psi.

What size cams would you recommend Aaron, when using the rb25 standard highflow? As you know I bought a highflow off you and am happy to folk out for cams but i simply dont know what to get! I even happy to get a custom grind if needed...

An amazing result with a small capacity engine. Great stuff! :sorcerer:

The RB20 is obviously a little doughy down lower in the range, but you've got a very strong mid range that holds and holds. Doesn't like to drop off after the peak either.

Boost control looks exceptionally good too...

Used in its intended environment (drift??) that thing should be very useful.

Either the Tomei Poncam 256 ex 8.5mm or the HKS 256 ex 8.8mm

They open up the top end on any car like you wouldnt beleive

Just a bit of an update...

I have just set my exhaust cam gear to -4 deg and added 3 deg of timing between 3200 and 3600 and the car now spools a 2~300rpm earlier. I also have reduced the timing to 18deg from 4200 to 6000 19deg between 6000 and 7200 just to be on the safe side as I am now running 19psi.

Going by the fact that I have had to add 13% more fuel from 4000 onwards to keep my AFR's at 12:1 I am guessing I have come VERY close to adding my car to the 260rwkw RB20 thread :)

JEEBUS>>> keep your pants on.... really this thing as BALLS...

when running this sort of boost the cam gear really shines and so does the hiflow.

I am not going to get a chance to dyno it for at least a month but i don't need to the tune is perfect and it would really only be to confirm a number. I really am having difficulty believing just how well these turbos perform, I was thinking of pulling the RB20 and going a 25 or even 30det but I really like the 20 with this much power.

Damn thats some big differences...

Looks like ive got my next mods sorted then! Cam gear then another tune from you mate if thats do-able, might just take the trip down to the berra and get you to do it if youve got a day free?

Im just having a problem with my car at the moment, i think its called TRACTION!

RB20s FTW!

bit more responsive down low and just wants to go go go untill boost arrives which is nice... but i dont think it was pinging after all, (even though i got a few people to confirm that it was) pretty sure it was the coil packs in the early stages of dieing!, borrowed some spitfires for now and car seems fine.....

so might exhaust cam gear it and crank some more power out of my reliable RB20

hey I'm new to this forum iv been reading around in here for a few days. is there an available bin directory or anything like that. so i can get a close base map to tune off of. I'm running a R Rb20 with a hybrid turbo i built to4b compressor with a sc61 hot side fc rx7 center and exhaust wheel trims are .60 .82..... rite now its siting at 1 bar but i got a dead spot around 6500. the only fuel mod i have rite now is a fpr. my ecu has been socketed and slightly tuned but that was for the stock turbo. any help me here would be much appreciated..

Jesse

sounds like an interesting combo, but you should really have it tuned rather than getting a base map unless you know what you are doing.

i can help you out with a base map if you want one. pm me your email address
