uh i don't know too much about cars, but this post confuses me =P

you're talking about replacing the engine right? which defeats the purpose of having a gtr engine in the first place?

if you mean boost, the standard reply i give anyone is 14-15 pounds before the rings/valves etc start taking a beating. If you put any more through you're going to need to upgrade a few bits, not the whole engine

IN TERMS OF STRENGTH..

early r32,r32/33/34 same n1,groupA.

also a old 200k old 32 or 33 block is stronger than a new n1 block. due to the weathering proces of heating up and down for the last 15 years.

you wont have any issues. unless your making in excess of 1000hp. on a block thats been bored out more than 40thou.

splitting blocks is usaly the result of localised hot spots in the cylinders. thats where block preperation comes in to it.

thanx t04..just i got told comething completely different by a mechanic which i wont mention.....that id only able to get 300kw atw with the stock block and anymore than that id have to get a completely new block...which i found a lil strange considering the power figures its got atm...

einstein sorry if it confused u hehe i just wanted to know the strength of the block and t04 has answered 4 me and backs up what HPI and other places have told me.....

no that's cool, i've never seen anyone concerned with the block before is all, i've seen some crazy power put through those engines, never thought it was an issue =P

i started being concerned when the mechanic told me and was even more surprised coz the place i went to is suppose to be one of the best and everyone told me to go there that they knew what they were on about....

but thanx pplz for the replies excellent people on here.

I ran 2 different blocks a one stage, one was sleeved and the other was an older block from a r32, both have put in excess of 234234 grasshoppers power = wheelspins at 150kph (semi slicks) if I dare to jump on it.

But for general use I can't see problems with RBs in general unless u got other probs ie loose rod bolt of disintegrating big end bearings yadada-yadada, you know what I mean.

u do need to worry about your block if you constantly do 10000rpm launches...

or if your bore your block too much...running stock capacity, your block is pretty much bullet proof..cant see the point of buying a N1 or group A if you dont use your car for drag racing
