Guys

Dumb questions 101.

Looking at replacing the cat in a GTR and have noticed most replacement/aftermarket cats don't have provision for the temp sensor.

Where should this be mounted? Before, after, into the cat itself?

All advice appreciated.

Cheers

Dont worry about it at all dude.

Its just for a dash warning light, its not connected to the ECU or anything else.

Doesnt serve any real purpose that you need to worry about.

Just tuck it up under the rail, thats what most do, or you can go and remove the whole thing which is a bit more time consuming. :)

Ahhh thank you masters.

Grasshopper is learning...........slowly.

I am guessing it is a cat cooking warning?

What are the issues of not stopping if the cat gets too hot - other than cooked carpet on the passenger side?

Just don't cut the temp sensor cable, either remove it completely (by unplugging it under the drivers seat) or tuck it away. I had mine cut a few years ago and apart from the light on the dash staying on, my engine would switch off if the car was left idling for longer than 2 minutes or so. Was like having a turbo timer!
