About TLC for Kids: TLC for kids is a unique children’s charity that provides urgent assistance and immediate distractions for sick children in hospital needing rapid Tender Loving Care. They work with children and young adults who have life-threatening illnesses such as cancer or cystic fibrosis as well as children who are chronically ill and have to make regular visits to hospital and others who require invasive treatments. Some children are transplant patients and others have childhood illnesses that have taken an extra hold - like chronic asthma or an uncertain virus.

They help put smiles back on sick kids' faces by creating happy memories for these children and their families, because we believe every sick child deserves a little Tender Loving Care www.tlcforkids.org.au

All cars and clubs are welcomed and invited to participate. We encourage you to bring all of your friends for what will be a great day for all that attend. Spread the word, join in the fun and help support a great cause!

Could you please reply to this post if you are coming with a rough number of people that are coming with you so that we can purchase adequate food and drink for the event.

If you would like to help on the day please PM me.

NOTE: Please ensure that you read our terms and conditions about events as we do not tolerate hoon-like, reckless or dangerous behaviour at our events. The authorities have been informed of the event and will be supporting us on the day to ensure that the event is controlled and safe for all attending.

Not sure how you came up with DFO which is F10 IIRC... not C8 :sorcerer:

Someone didnt even look at thier melways did they? :verymad:

Nice ride assyrian4evaa, but yeah its actually at Essendon Airport not DFO near Essendon Airport.

R31Nismoid will you be gracing us with your presence on the day?

thanx man i guess i'll be coming its for a good cause so count me in and a mate in a 180SX and maybe acouple of other cars but not sure yet

I would just like to point out that UHF CB #31 is a Duplex Repeater input if you were not aware of this.

In other words all transmissions on that channel are retransmitted via any CH#1/31 Repeater in range out on CH# 1. This also stands for CH#2-#8 (Input from #32-#38)

In the interests of reasonable radio procedure I would suggest use of non duplex (simplex) channels between 12-20 0r 23-30 which dont include repeaters or restricted channels (#21-#22)

I know your probably not pumping out 25W (more like .25W;-) but you would be surprised how far a UHF signal of any power can go!

Like try 5W from Mt William to Mt BawBaw - quite a few kays ;-)

Cheers Turbox will look into this :)

Hey guys just a quick update on things:

- We have confirmed some porsches and mustangs to be attending

- still working on the ferrari's

- organising prizes for a raffle on the day

- Prelude Australia are having a pre cruise to the event to show their support as a group.

and these are just some of the things happening..... more to come

It would be great to see SAU show their support :)

doesnt look like theres much intrest :(

Yeah not sure whats happening here??? As we have had a great response from a range of other clubs that are supporting the cruise.

If you do intend on coming please let us know so that we can purchase enough food for the BBQ. Its a free BBQ for showing your support for TLC for kids.

Alrighty the charity cruise on this sunday we have plenty of food and drinks and loads of hot rides coming down for the day.

Help us support TLC for kids and come down to Essendon we have also organised some great prizes for the raffle as well

Look forward to seeing you guys on the day :(

    • I see... Any idea how much fab work is required? I note the Hygear megathread but its like 900 pages
    • I should try the experiment you're talking about, the throttle switch is still there carried over from the R32 and it's still all wired up but after I did the whole intake manifold refurb and had to recalibrate the TPS I managed to somehow get the idle switch reporting activation at 0.22V, then when I adjusted it to 0.45V for idle it decided the engine was permanently no longer idling which caused some very weird behavior, closed loop idle was disabled so it would basically be at the whims of the cold start valve and whatever the base timing table was at. Then just unplugging/replugging the TPS with the ECU live caused it to relearn the idle TPS position and decide 0.45V was idle. Presumably there's nothing in the TPS that allows for the throttle switch to "recalibrate" like that, not easily at least.
    • Duh... to answer my own silly question, it's actually described in the FSM... ...400 pages away at the end of the manual, for RB25DE/DET signal descriptions, it cites the TPSwitch signal action, is dependent on the TPSensor value ~ this tends to infer the builtin POT voltage signal is the primary, and the switches are fallback/secondary should the POT fail/TPSensor signal lost (and switch alone with no TPSensor signal allows for base idle speed setting).... makes sense... they (TPS units) used to fail/wear the POT with time, they're not exactly built to last ~ having the switch as a redundancy gets around this...(or, it's less likely both signals would be lost as they're on different power rails)... and of course wrt RB26DETT, you have to electrically disconnect the IACV solenoid from the harness, to defeat idle air control...
    • Dose is unaware just how much fun 145-150kw would be in a 2.5L NC MX5. It would be one of the most fun things to drive to ever grace SAU.
    • Same thought crossed my mind ~ depends on how one connotes 'stalling'...ie; gets a rough/stumbling idle as it get warm until it stalls... or... idles ok and simply falls-over when it gets to temp... ...you can test the whole circuit with a couple of resistors ...unplug coolant temp sensor, bridge terminals with a 2K7 resistor (ECU will do cold start), or with engine warm bridge with a 330R resistor (ECU will consider engine to be at normal operating temp)...it's a quick way to check wiring integrity/ECU response when you don't have a multimeter handy ...
