Well the final round of the 2006 State Autotest Championship was held last sunday at the AHG centre near the airport. From all reports there were some fierce battles for the final class placing's and outright championship points on offer.

I would just like to congratulate three SAUWA members, Gavin Page, Andre Vaisey and Liz Sheehan who came 2nd, 3rd and 4th respectively in their class. WELL DONE :ninja:

It just goes to show that you don't need mega horsepower monsters to do well against a field that consisted of Jaguars, supras, bmws and even one ferrari!

Thanks Ant. :pirate: Also Andre (leadfoot) came 3rd - he is also from these forums. Throughout the season he placed 2nd and he did this running without R-Comps... beating some of those who did have them and the suspension to match. That is an awesome effort.

I will be contesting every round next year i hope. Only got 3 this year as my car was not ready :P . Look forward to some friendly competition from ya's.

oh by the way, Congrats to you guys for your results. Very well done.

then we shall see who can't drive :) If i place before you - you have to buy me a supercharger for next xmas okay?? If you place before me - i'll just take you out to dinner :)

I think the ferrari only competed a couple of times. But the guy who drives the Jag... when he tries he places well. As soon as he gets a wrong way or hits a cone he just starts putting on a show for the crowd doing 360's etc... its good to watch at least!

totally stoked with my placing and my way cool trophy am gunna have to majorly shape up next season with the quality of everyone entering the class thru this season

and well done to the other sauwa guys

      Put a hand on an injector and see if that's what the buzzing is. You might be triggering the injectors by moving off idle command.

      Ah, should have been clearer. Currently has a flex sensor installed all good to go.    like u mentioned, I’ve only ever known the car on e85, I might hate 98, but I have to try it out first. Everyone says the -5 turbos get pretty laggy on 98 octane tho…

      Duncan , the plan is to get the down pipes done then I book it in for the full tune . Most likely late May , that's the plan.

      The suspense is killing me lol.  Are you going to buy a flex sensor, then add the 98 tune to your current tune?  It sounds like your just going to delete the current tune and re-tune the car on 98 =/ If you've only known your car on e85, I don't think it will be long before you install the flex sensor and go back to running e85 when its available lol.

      Currently on an e85 only tune, but I barely get 200km from a full tank. Makes going for longer drives difficult, especially when u leave Melbourne metro as there aren’t many united servos, hence why I’m thinking of going more of a 98 setup.    And yes the smell lol. Any drive afterwards I need to have a shower and wash all the clothes I was wearing, it’s like someone made a Calvin clown e85 perfume and sprayed it all over me haha
