32 and 33 GT-Rs have the same overall gearing, with the only difference being the wheels, the 33 having a slightly larger overall diameter using 17s.

Based on old magazine 'in-gear' speeds, 32s are capable of just over 310km/h in 5th@8000rpm, and the 33 would be a little more. Not that either have enough power potential on factory turbos to do that, though.

How much power would it take to push 300-310km/h given enough road? Also out of curiosity, how many km/h can roughly 300rwkw take me to with the appropriate gearing?

Aerodynamic drag on a vehicle increases as a cube of the % speed increase, so the extra power required to reach a certain speed increases in proportion to that.

32 GT-Rs do about 265km/h stock, so 310 would be near as a 17% increase, so 1.17^3= 1.602. Which means you would need around 60% more power than factory to do 310km/h- Assuming that 32's have 310hp standard (common realistic figure), that would mean you need at least 495hp.

Baseline rwkW figure for standard BNR32 is 170rwkW im told, so 300 would be a 76.5% increase, yeilding a 20.85% increase in top speed, or (with appropriate gearing/rev limit increase), around 320km\h.

Hope this helps :verymad:

R32 GTR....270 stock......Doubt it.

I reckon 240 would be a more realistic.....mines modified (315hp@wheels) and I'd rate its top speed realistically in the region of 240-250kmh.

When mine had 250rwkw, i was hitting 250k/h with no trouble, just running out of track, it was still pulling i just had to slow down for the corner.

Well thats about 30rwKW more than mine so sounds about right :P

Mine is about 50rwKW over standard so i'm guessin the standard GTR is going to need a whole lot of road to hit 240-250kmh....i'd say it'd get to 220kmh fairly quickly but would struggle from then on.

Personally I judge top speed on what I can hit easily and quickly, not what it'll eventually hit if I keep my foot mashed to the floor for minutes on end...
