im doing a major service on my car for the first time, is it worth getting all main parts from nissan (eg. timing belt, other belts etc.) considering its a mildly modified R33, are the parts durable. or else just go to repco, bursons etc for my parts or get performance orientated parts (ive seen hks timing belts etc) with quality, lifetime also cost as main obvious factors.

thanks in advance.

Be more specific on what service you want to carry out

Major to some people like myself is coolant flush, oil flush, change plugs, clean air pods, change petrol filter, change oil filter, check brakes, rotate tyres, check pads, diff oil change, gear box oil change

check battery level..,etc.etc.etc.....As you can see the list is large.

Each part that needs to be replaced has had some discussion on what type is recomended and

where they purchased the products from.

When you are happy with the products you want to buy,for the service....then shop them around to see the price differences.

Do a search on each service you would like to under-take.

Hope I have been of some help.

Cheers :P

Get some new spark-plugs, oil filter, air filter and engine oil.

If you are happy with the way the car is running after this service

change the gear box oil and diff.oil. This can be scheduled for the next service 5000kms on.

If you are un-happy......look at changing leads/coils,petrol filter.

This will help fuel and spark delivery.

Hope I have been of some help. :)

i usually would use a genuine nissan timing belt and water pump, and any seals that you require. all the fluids and other stuff get from repco/autobarn/supercheap

Also nissan oil filters are almost same price as ryco ones, may as well go nissan for them...
