Hi guys,

I'm looking into purchasing a r32 gts-t skyline and would like to learn more information before i get into inspecting and test driving them :(

As I have very limited knowledge on skylines (my current car is a CC lancer :P ), some of these Q's may seem very n00b so please bear with me!

Some info I am after is:

-are there any oz-spec (locally delivered) r32's and if so how can I tell the difference

-what are the major differences between N/A, Gts-t and gt-4 other than obvious (eg, strengthened chassis, different interior/instument cluster, stronger/different rb20 internals, etc)

-what options did they come with from factory (eg sunroof, climate control), and what is standard on all of them

-how can i tell if an N/A has had an rb20det transplant, or a manual convo (eg different chassis/VIN numbers)

-any common rust areas/problems/squeaks/leaks to look for when inspecting and test driving

-what updates/additions were done to the car in later years (ie whats the difference between 89/90/91/92/93 r32)

thanks in advance!

A few answers for you off the top of my head

-There are no oz delivered 32 gtst's, there are 100 aussie GTRs

-U said the main differences, brakes are better but I believe the gearboxs are the same, anyone?

-Factory options are s/roof (gold), active spoiler, air purifier, different front bars and skirts, most are type-m which have better brakes and a few interior goodies, prolly a few other things.

-To tell if it has had a transplant check badges like red/blue GT on the sides, check for factory boost gauge, FAST the VIN number ask nicely and people will do it for you.

-32s do have problems with rust, check under wheel archs and under the car if it's minor it can be fixed

Good Luck

please do a search and browse the forum a little more. you can answer all those questions easily with a search..

theres also an article written up for the things to lookout for when buying a skyline i.e. rust areas and other problematic prone areas

its good to see you are doing your research before hitting up the market though.

yeh ive noticed acouple good posts in the DIY section.

but theres some questions i couldnt find answers to.

like what is the difference between gts-t and gts-t Type M, other than side skirts? how could i tell the difference between a gts-t 'badged' as a type M and a real type M?

thanks in advance guys;

Here's a good website with some useful information:

http://www.japanesesportcars.com/skyline/specs/

Lol, I just had a quick look at that website, it is interesting but not sure how reliable it is, heres one example about the r32 gts-t that it gave:

Rear Spoiler: No

Plus it says it has 15" wheels which is news to me :)
