my mates 200sx ZAP200 at WSID crossed the line at 220kmh with a big suprise...

his airbags deployed. would have crapped myself if i was driving,

they think its from the twist in the body,

The body would be twisting more in the first 100ft then the last 100ft, thats why u see cars lifting 1 (or both) wheels off the line and not over the finish line.

are there impact sensors in the front of the car that set em off in an accident? what sorta front bar? maybe the wind at 220km/h has set it off somehow? maybe bending the bar in or something?

airbags work of a potentiometer or however u spell it loll, doubt chasis would flex and set it off, is 220 fast? if its quick then why did the car still have the airbag?

Have heard/seen a Gen 3 commodore do the same. Don't recall the cause of the problem.

Hey what colour was the 200sx? It wasn't yellow was it?

Some of the coasties came down to WSID on friday night to see the hornsby guys run and there was a noticeable yellow 200sx/sylvia s15 there.
