Heya Guys,

Well a little over 3 months ago now I imported my dream car, a Series 1 R33 GTS-t to be the first owner in Australia :O However we found not long after that there were a few engine issues that were quite common in the RB25's, that needed to be sorted out.

So after a few weeks of saving the pennies my mechanic and I sat down and brainstormed the best plan of action. It resulted in the following:

Week 1:

Engine was stripped and removed from the car to reveal the following...

As you can see the rings have been obliterated.

What we feared was scoring of the bore, which would result in boring out and a hone, which was more cost we didn't want, but....

Chamber 1, plenty of scores there...too many to ignore.

Week 2:

The block was sent away to the engine shop to get machined. Bored out.

We were awaiting the order for the Arias forged pistons to arrive so the machining of the bore could be guaged properly. These have now arrived!!

Metal Head Gasket.

Well, So far so good. The block arrives back today from the engine shop...so we can get building again.

I will update the post as it unfolds

Cheers guys,

Sam.
