hi

Ive got a 97 r33 gts-t s2. According to the previous owner, it was converted from auto to manual back in japan. Is there a way i can find out whether it has a s1 or s2 motor. ie, engine number etc etc..

someone mention about the S1 having an ignitor located on top of the motor at the back on the rocker cover near the firewall, and the S2 has the ignitor built into the ECU. im new to skyline and im not really sure what it means. anyone with a pic illustration?

also.. is there a way to find out whether the ecu is auto or manual coz ive read a thread regarding problems with auto ecu on a manual. aparently the rpm rise alittle when the clutch is in when im shifting out of 1st to second.

cheers

If its a 97 model there is no reason why it shouldnt have the series 2 motor in it regardless of if it has been converted from auto to manual. But an easy check for me is the AFM check the sticker on it. If its pink its a series 2.
