hi,

since i bought my skyline i knew it was running on the bit rich side of things but put that down to having an EMS.

lately i can feel the car getting sluggish, but put that down to me getting used to the car.

then the first set of spark plugs fouled on me.. (weird feeling when it happens at the top of 2nd gear)

they were replaced... now not even 4 weeks later they have fouled again and i have just replaced them today.

what could be causing my car to be running extra rich ? i need to get the EMS tuned but i am wondering if there is anything else that could be slowly increasing fuel over time.

i have thought maybe the O2 sensor ? if so how much and what kind of O2 sensor could i replace the current one with.. i notice it has 3 wires on it too.

Specs:

EMS QI4 dual sport

R32 RB20det Silver top

Spark Plugs:

NGK BCPR6ES, gapped to 0.8

thanks.

Hi Skyrine-Dave, you already know the answer, it's dyno time with an air fuel ratio check. The cost of wasted fuel is higher than the cost of a dyno power run, give up the resistance and get on with it.

What to do before you go...

*check spark plugs

*change fuel filter

*clean the airfilter

*change engine oil and filter

*check the radiator water level

*fill tank with fresh BP Ultimate or Shell Optimax

Please let us know the results, always makes interesting reading.
