Since installing my alarm i have realised that also using a turbo timer will present a problem since my rhino alarm doesnt allow for one.

I was reading in "21st century performance" by Julian Edgar, that a turbo timer is not really needed if you drive sensibly towards the end of your journey (makes sense ). He also said that having guages that monitor intake temps and exhaust temps will help to show when your turbo has cooled back to "normal" temps and what kind of driving will help this to happen quicker. Sounds like a great idea. I was wondering if anyone has done this and if so what kind of gear they used.

Hi guys, we use the exhaust gas temperature, oil temperature and water temperature gauges and drive the car gently until they stay below 500, 85 and 80 degrees respectively. That way we cool down everything (gearbox, brakes, diff etc) not just the engine. Letting a car sit and idle does nothing for the other items.

Hope that helps.
