i installed my fmic a few weeks back , i was reading today about something that questioned my opinion.

my piping for the cooler didnt come with a nipple so i taped into the vacume hose off the bov and hooked it to that = now i was reading that it can cause spiking?

what exactly is happening when it spikes if it does ? and am i running a risk having it working off the bov vacume hose?

help would be appreciated thanks

what happened when i had mine setup like that, when i grabbed 4th gear accelerating hard at highway speed, it would jump up to about 14psi for just a second.

then i put the nipple off the stock piping into the pipe from the turbo to the cooler and that solved the problem.

iv been driving a lot and watching my gauge . i noticed that slowly increasin speed during boost it will reach aroun 8 psi . if im close to hitting boost and slam my foot down - she will go to 10 psi - and hold , thats my peak . mind you im running stage 1 mods - fmic , pod , turbo back exhaust - twin split dump pipe , stock boost .

im looking to get a boost controller soon . how high do you recon is safe to go on stock turbo?
