hehe yep, pretty much...

Does anyone know someone who would insure an R33 gtst third party fire and theft for its value (about 15k-20k) and the rough prices? I have tried just cars and although fairly cheap, it only covers $4000 of theft (the main thing I am worried about).

you have to hope that the person at vicroads is not a tightarse and just agrees with whatever you said. I think all the weighing gets done at compliance so you probably need to get your importer to "modify" the weight before they register it initially.

Not worth the hassle seriously...either take the risk or get an r32 turbo which is legal.

but when i saw soo many gtsts with P plates

jon771-

Vic power to weight ratio explained:

no more than 125kw's per tonne... example: Nissan Skyline R33 GTS-T:

Weight: 1370kg (give or take) = 1.37 tonnes.

Power: 187kw (give or take)

187/1.37 = 136.5kw's per tonne. Illegal

"quoted from SS8_Gohan"

this has also been quoted about 1000 times before! :)

remember the cops apparently read these forums..um yes its legal eh?? :P

correct.

* learners = 1 year, can't drive by yourself, 90km/hr limit

* red Ps = 1 year, lower speed limits, 100km/hr limit

* green Ps = 2 years, 100km/hr limit

i am not 100% sure about the speed limits, but it's something like that. i am on my green Ps still, get my full licence in oct

yeah, i reckon you should drive your mum or dad's car for a while which is probably less powerful.

but no matter what... when you get a fast car you are going to drive around a little faster and do things you wouldn't normally do. the magnitude in which this occurs is just amplified if you are young and dumb
