The water inlet pipe between the head and firewall that goes to the turbo has a hose clamp attached to it as it leaves the head (removed it).

Further along, say 10cm, the hose joins to a brass pipe this is bolted to the back of the head via a small rectangular bracket (i cannot reach it at all.)

Just before the pipe turns and heads for the turbo it has another bracket (which i have removed)

Now, the pipe turns and goes directly to the side of the turbo. (this has been remmoved.)

Reason for removing it completely is that i will replace it with a hose from head-to-turbo. As i am pretty sure i have kinked the f@#k out of it.

Will be picking my GT3071R (custom spec) today!

You'll have problems with that bracket, everybody does. Best bet is to have a heap of different sorts of spanners handy [all the right size, go and borrow some off mates etc ring, open enders, gearless] and just be stubborn and don't give up.

You'll find that one spanner will turn the bolt half a turn, and then another spanner will do another half a turn etc etc

Once you've got it off and undone, throw the bracket into the eternal pit of hell, don't try to re use it.

hah, just did the same procedure as you've described not over an hour ago, such a bitch to get at

EDIT: have you got any hot tips on how to remove the top half of the manifold? the bolts on the underside closest to the head are a real bitch to get too, the only thing i can manage to grip it with is a small ring spanner, and i can't put enough force onto it with it :)
