hi guys,

i have an os giken twin plate, probably TS2CD. what i want to know is:

can it be modified so it's more like a stock clutch (i.e. by replacing the centre or something)?

if not, i guess i should replace it (say with a jim berry - unless he could modify it?). what would you advise?

relevant info:

1994 r32 gtr

power fc (not yet installed)

HKS turbo Actuators

HKS air pods

5Zigen turbo-back exhaust

550cc injectors

cheers all.

sig.

yeah i should have specified my problems a bit better

the main things are that (a) it bites hard and (b) it grips in about a centimetre. this makes hill starts and moving off at low revs a real problem. i stall it a lot. i also spin the wheels a lot.

would a new slave fix these? or something else?

If it takes up close to the floor don't use a larger diameter slave cylinder because that will make it worse.

A bigger slave will make the take up a little more gradual, the low or high take up point can be ajusted .

A Nismo slave is a little bigger and will help a little , it won't feel as sudden ( the take up).

Hmmm....how much is a little?

Im pretty sure there is an adjustment on the rod that goes from the pedal to the slave.

i thought the adjustment on the shaft only moved the take up position, but not the suddenness or distance of the takeup....?

Yeah the adjustment does only move the take up position, which you said is too close,so thats how you can adjust that.As for the suddenness of the take off, putting a bigger slave in will help a fair bit but you will pretty much just have to get used to it.Thats all just part of having a twin plate.
