a cheap option is the 'plus 50' narva range. I've used them in several cars in the past, and in my S2 when it still had halogen globes in it,before I bought a set of factory HIDs.

at ~$30 a pair,you can't go wrong.

OK, I'm confused, aren't the best fog lights supposed to be yellow? I have 5 cars and 3 of them have yellow fog lights (the Stagea being one of them). Personally I find that they are much better in the fog than the other 2 cars that have white fog lights.

 cheers :)

Boy am I glad I live in WA..... don't remember when I last drove in fog!! ;)

Actually any aftermarket HID conversion is illegal unless factory optioned lights are used (AKA, installing S2 XENONs in a car without XENONs). This is at the reflection pattern of a halogen light is different to HID systems.

yep i know that but i havent seen an s1 hid headlight before though so i thought wat the heck whack it on and it came out good cant complain of course you have to sdhust the head light assembly assy down a bit in order not to shine onto oncoming traffic.

Having been the owner of both an S1 front and S2 front, I am glad to produce the following information.

S2

High beams are HB3 60W

Low beams are H1 55W

Parkers are D2R 35W

Fog lights are unknown at this stage

I'm having real trouble finding a replacement parker globe for my S2 with the afforementioned D2R fitment. The only info I can seem to find about D2R fitments is that they are normally on HID bulbs and I wouldn't have thought a parker would be a HID.

Has anyone else had to replace their parkers on a S2, and where have you bought your bulbs? I haven't been able to get them anywhere.

the front park light globes on the S2 are exactly the same in both HID and normal headlight models, small wedge type globes. you can get them in ANY parts shop.

Justin...

My fog light bulbs had been removed and the plugs cut off for compliance (crimp spade plugs work a treat to replace the plug). The bulbs for series 1 fog lights are H3C and a P.I.A. :D to source good ones anywhere except EBAY. Narva charge like $12 each for H3, but $50 for H3c. If you want to go for a narva or similar, purchase H3, and just ground them onto the chasis near the headlights, or just put spade plugs on the harness as I did and plug them into either the back of the H3c or to the extra wire that comes off a H3.

For information, if you want an affordable H3c, supercheap auto sells their own brand for about $12 each from memory, about a quarter of anywhere else.

And the S1 fog lights are awesome.. :)

i find that its better off to convert to HID system for the headlights. Works much better compared to the halogens. Im using the original headlight assembly. A direct plug in replacement. Dont need to use the fog light anymore.

So now I'm confused :)

But then chook said the parkers are a G4 Wedge and the main bulbs (lo or hi beam) are D2R.

The Stagea lo beams are dissapointing to say the least, the fogs near useless and I'm in need of an upgrade of some sort.

I'm afraid I'll have to remove my front bar just to check and with my lack of expertise, I'm sure I'll damage something.

Can anyone confirm which is correct?

SK, did you end up doing anything with your lights? What did you do and how has it turned out?

for my lights

I used the stock housings

Bought a plug and plau HID HO.LO kit from a US vendor for 215 USD shipped

8000K brightness (too blue IMO now that i have it should have gotten 6000K

works outstanding

600K would be the best to use on the road.

As far as i know stageas S1 uses H4 lo/hi all in one. Not too sure about the parkers though

Well sorry for the thread revival, but I am a little confused as to whats what. Basically people say the Series 2 C34 low beam lights use H1 55w, yet i pulled mine out today, which are the stock xenon's( unless somebody changed the bulbs in japland) and the bulb had on it...D2r 35W.. Any ideas?

There defiantly not halogen bulbs, they are xenon, however in my previous car which had 6000k xenon's in it, i remember much greater visibility than what I currently have. Should i swap these bulbs over for some 6000k H1 55W ones?

Also could some please advise to what size bulb the Parker light is, as i would like to change it to a white light and get that horrible yellow out.

Dunno about series 2 but on my s1 lamp type is stamped on the plastic housing above the lights.

If by parker you mean the font indicator lights they are a single contact bayonet fitting 12v 21W.

you will get a bit for the stock set up if you want to sell it... its just matter of snipping the pos neg to the ballast... taking it and the globe out to sell... and re wiring the new ones back in... you will need some h1 globe holders tho... i have a set of stock xenon globes here D2R 35w with very good visability... you could jump on to the phillips website or somthing and get some 55w or somthing i spose???
