R33 Gts-t S2 Problem

Hi just posting for a mate because his stuck somewhere.

He just recently changed his fuel pump and AFM

has a Z32 upgrade.

Engine cranks but car does not start.

PFC handset AFM reads 500mv when its on the reds apparently.Is this normal?

I'm guessing its the AFM, coilpacks/sparkplugs.

Did he change the the afm on the pfc to the z32 afm option?

Yeah he did, its been tuned already.

whats does ETC, SENSOR SW CHECK (AFM1) show at idle?

what does MONITOR, 1 CHANNEL, AIRFLOW show at idle?

anything in SENSOR SW CHECK thats highlighted in black background

car doesnt idle, so cant find out.

he has taken the coil packs out to have a look his sure that they are 100% fine, will look into the spark plugs soon.

when when you turn the car to ON but don't start it, what do those values show?

Okay just had my mate look at his pfc.

Only ones with a black dot are IGN and ECC.

AF-1 is 0.48v

THRO is .68v

02-1 is 3.88v

EXTM is 4.98v

The rest are not black for the background

this may sound stupid, but what sort of immobiliser does he have? it may be that it is playing up and isn't letting the car supply fuel or spark.

he has mongose m60 alarm.. checked the manual already. Its all functioning fine.

Yeah I think its something to do with fuel/spark.

But AFM can be a factor too.

Yeah I would assume it is.

Coilpacks are fine.

Just replaced sparkplugs.

How would you go around checking if an AFM is faulty?

Does anyone have an AF-1 reading on an a PowerFC when the car isn't started?

500mv is about spot on for car not started and z32 selected

well if its reading ok with the car off then it could be ok

its too hard to tell. can u just take the car to a mechanis or workshop?

if you try and start the car and watch SENSOR SW / CHECK what do you see ?

Well you changed 2 things, AFM and Fuel pump; you have eliminated the AFM, so check the dam fuel pump.

Can you here it prime when you turn the ignition on, is it intank? External? Check to see if it’s getting voltage, is it a faulty pump? Or wired in wrong?

See how you go
