R33 Gts Gearbox Help

im now the pride owned of a 1994 r33 gts (my first import ) its a great car but the only problem is when down shifting from third to second, if ur above 30kmph it will make a huge crunch and not select gear.

Now im guessing this is the synrco but before i change boxes i plan to change the oil in it. any ideas on what oil goes in it ?

One more question is there any difference between the gts and the gts-t boxes ?

i'd say the gts-t is probably a stronger box, but also much more expensive. my mate was quoted up to $1200 for a box.

first i do the oil. something like the redline lightweight shockproof has good reports. others use motul. anything that is fully synthetic is good.
